FORC Wins Round One

The owners of the Rock Creek Country Club withdrew their request for a text ammendment. While this is a great round-one victory for Friends of Rock Creek, this is by no means over. You can see the complete announcement here..

Big Turnout for Community Meeting

With a show of strength and unity, over 350 people attended the community meeting on Sept. 16th at Lenox Elementary. Attendees heard presentations from the Friends of Rock Creek, John Junkin, Desiree Strader, and Andy Duyck. This was a great way to hear the progress we have made so far, get answers to questions and continue the energy with our effort to Save Rock Creek.

Core Team Update #2

After a thorough search we are very pleased to announce the attorney that will represent the Friends of Rock Creek. We anticipate that in Sept we will have a Community meeting to introduce him and give an update to everyone on where the effort is and the next steps in the effort to stop the ownership group.

There is a CPO meeting on Sept 8th which will have an update from Joann Rice from Washington County Planning Dept. on Rock Creek at about 8:30 PM. The room is small and we are NOT encouraging FORC to attend. Instead we are trying to have a FORC dedicated session on Sept 16th (still looking for a venue location) to allow more community time to meet the attorney, ask questions, and get updates from the core team directly. Look for another announcement about this meeting.
